⚠ TPR issued 74,000+ compliance notices in 2023–24

Auto-enrolment compliance, on autopilot.

Most UK employers set up auto-enrolment once and never touched it again. Then the £400/day fines start arriving. pension.law tracks every TPR obligation, calculates every contribution, and stamps every declaration — for £19/month.

Why employers get fined

The three traps that catch UK employers

TPR enforcement has shifted from setup to ongoing compliance. These are the patterns we see every week.

Trap 01
"I did it once in 2017"
Re-enrolment is mandatory every 3 years. Most micro-employers have never re-enrolled their opted-out workers. TPR's current enforcement focus is exactly this — and the first you'll hear about it is a £400 compliance notice.
Trap 02
"My accountant said 3% is fine"
3% employer minimum is on qualifying earnings (pay between £6,240 and £50,270), not on basic pay alone. If your worker earns overtime, commission, or a bonus, you're probably underpaying contributions and don't know it.
Trap 03
"I postponed verbally"
Postponement only counts if you issue a written notice within 6 weeks of the worker's start date. No notice = no postponement = backdated contributions owed from day one. TPR will check.
What you get

Every TPR obligation, automated

If the Pensions Regulator can ask about it, pension.law has a calculator, tracker, or wizard for it.

EL
Eligibility Classifier
Bulk-assess every worker into TPR's three categories (eligible / non-eligible / entitled) based on age and earnings. Variable-hours workers get re-assessed each pay period automatically.
£
Contribution Calculator
All four certification methods supported (qualifying earnings · Set 1 · Set 2 · Set 3). Variance engine catches underpayments before TPR does.
3y
Re-Enrolment Engine
Tracks your 3-year cycle to the day. Alerts fire 90 / 60 / 30 days before your window opens. One-click re-enrolment letters for all your opted-out workers.
📄
TPR Declaration Wizard
Step-by-step checklist for your declaration of compliance. trained QA reviewer stamps every submission. You copy and paste into the TPR portal — done.
Postponement Manager
Auto-generated postponement notices within the 6-week deadline. Tracks the end-of-postponement enrolment trigger so you never miss it.
Opt-Out Tracker
Per-worker opt-out records. Refund calculation in seconds. 3-year automatic re-enrolment forecasting so you know exactly who to re-enrol and when.

FAQ

The questions employers actually ask

Does pension.law submit my declaration to TPR for me?
No — for regulatory reasons, you make the submission yourself on the TPR online portal. pension.law prepares everything you need to copy and paste, and our trained QA review team stamps the package before you submit so you're confident every figure is right.
Are you a financial adviser? Can you tell me which pension scheme to use?
We're not financial advisers. For most micro-employers we point you to NEST — the government-backed default scheme, which is free and meets every TPR requirement. If you want to consider other providers (NOW: Pensions, Smart Pension, Royal London), we route that conversation through Supreme Capital, which holds the FCA Appointed Representative authorisation required for regulated advice.
What if I've already missed my re-enrolment window?
It's the most common position we see — and there's a recovery path. We'll calculate exactly how overdue you are, generate the backdated re-enrolment letters and contribution calculations, prepare your late re-declaration, and (on Suite tier) walk you through TPR's mitigation process. Action this week beats waiting another week — fines escalate daily.
I already use BrightHR / Sage / Xero. Why pension.law on top?
Those tools track that auto-enrolment exists. pension.law manages it — the eligibility classifier, contribution variance audits, re-enrolment date engine, and TPR declaration wizard simply don't exist in those products at micro-employer pricing. You can keep your existing payroll; we plug into it.
I'm a sole director with no employees. Do I need this?
No. If you're a single-director company with no employment contract, you're outside auto-enrolment duties. Come back the day you hire your first employee — we'll handle setup from Day 1.

Stop guessing whether you're compliant.
